Pediatric nursing is an estimable career for the person who loves the small kids and possesses the patience to take care of the physical wounds of a teenager too. Pediatric nursing challenges a nurse to face the intense caring of an infant too. The children’s nurse has a prominent role to play in the way a child heals up with his wounds in quick time.
The children’s nurse isn’t a candid job as it demands you to interact with patient’s close
kins through out the entire healing process. The nurse has to relay the questions of the patient’s sister, parents, etc and even take care of them at some points. The job also provokes you to share your nursing skills with different people everyday. The patient faces powerlessness, guilt, shamefulness along with the unrelenting pain too, the nurse has to encourage the patient to cope up with his/her wounds. The nurse has to evaluate the role she has to play at every instant of time. The children’s nurse demands you to understand the mental and physical states of the children comprehensively. Having a smile on the face for the entire day makes this job a very delightful experience. The adults mind and bodies work in different ways at every point of time. The adolescent mind is turbulent in nature, and this vivid nature of an adult has to be taken care of by the nurse with an ease. The nurse has to even work under a doctor’s guidance, and take care of the patient’s vaccination and perform well-child check-ups frequently.
The small children tend to get scared when they are at the hospital .The nurse has to make sure that the small children feel joyous and comfortable at the hospital. The fact that children are very young, they can’t estimate the changes taking place in their body. The children generally get confused and frightened when they arrive at the hospital. The nurse has to adopt the harsh and polite nature according to the various situations at every point of time. The small children require lot of care and warmth when they are ill, this responsibility also lies on the shoulders of the nurse.
One has to face the treatment of disheartening cases of extreme wounds, hurts and accidents on a given day. The mental and physical trauma a patient faces is enormous and this has to be understood by the nurse. The nurse has to make it a point to that the patient develops the confidence to cope up with the injuries he had faced prior to his/her arrival at the hospital.
The pediatric nursing jobs are paid well. The job is hectic and demanding yet it is an exciting career option for people who can bring a smile on the face in an instant. The incessant prayers that a pediatric nurse receives for the caring deeds they do are invaluable.
